Tao of Dance
The Tao of Dance:
A conscious dance workshop for seasoned dancers, beginners and everyone in between.
We show up week after week. We put our feet on the dance floor and bring ourselves into community. We court the movements of improvisation. Wewitness the rhythms of paradoxes: flying and grounding, dissolving and centering, expanding and contracting, activating and settling. We return again and again to the floor cultivating our capacities to dance to any song, to move through any feeling, to stay with any movement, to witness all that is present We dedicate ourselves to this practice so that we will be fortified in this chaotic world and guided on the journey home to ourselves.
In this workshop we’ll ask What can a practice of conscious dance offer us? We’ll explore this question using use the Tao Te Ching’s three treasures as a structure to explore three Core Movement Resources from Open Floor teachings (ground, center, and dissolve).
